The testament for administration of the city funds of Agincourt were put to vote by the city adjudicator to be placed under his own purview. After counting the vote, the adjudicator found his proposal awarded the largest contingent of votes. In their adjourning discussions, counsellors discovered a majority amongst them opposed to the outcome. An investigation was launched into the proceedings. The results showed that the adjudicator had counted votes in favor of his proposal as whole votes, but votes against his proposal as mere half-votes. When confronted with his deceit, the adjudicator defended himself as follows:
“Those counsellors who received half a vote showed poor reasoning skills on account of selecting the inferior option, demonstrating they did not merit a full vote.”
